Based on Su Shi's life, poetry, and anecdotes during his Huangzhou exile, this AIGC film retells a historical figure through a first-person "literati vlog." It connects ancient life with contemporary internet language and everyday rhythms, presenting Su Dongpo as an ordinary person with emotions, routines, and complaints.

Historical figures often feel distant from young audiences. Instead of explaining how great he was, I asked: if he lived like an ordinary person today, would we understand him more easily? I translated his experiences into a familiar vlog narrative so culture could be reimagined and approached, not just studied.

EXPERIMENT

From Poetry to AIGC Narrative

I developed the concept, script, and storyboard from Huangzhou poetry and anecdotes, then used AIGC to generate characters, scenes, and animation. Key challenges were character/scene consistency, shot continuity, and balancing classical aesthetics with modern storytelling. After prompt adjustments, selection, editing, voice-over, and music, scenes became a coherent narrative space.

REFLECT

This was my first full process from insight → script → storyboard → AIGC → editing. I learned that distance from history need not be closed only by explanation; turning a figure from an object of introduction into an ordinary person can help us reimagine his era. Youthful communication is not just slang; it is finding a narrative entry point. AIGC helped make that imagination visible.
